Indian Institute of Information Technology,
Allahabad (IIITA), Prayagraj (U.P.) is an Institute of National Importance
established in 2000 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The
Institute offers B.Tech., M.Tech., M.B.A,
Ph.D., and other programs of contemporary relevance to the aspiring
learners, in the broad areas of Applied Sciences, Electronics and Communication
Engg., Information Technology, Management Studies and their associated niche
domains.
IIITA invites application for the
posts of Assistant Professor (Grade-I) on regular positions and Assistant
Professor (Grade-II) on contract, from individuals having Doctoral degree
from reputed Institutions/Universities from India and abroad with an excellent
scholastic record in academics, high quality research, and commitment to
teaching under 4-Tier-Flexible faculty Structure in the disciplines of
Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Applied
Sciences, and Management Studies. The numbers of vacancies are 18 addressing
the needs of all the departments.
Reservation is applicable as per
Government of India rules. The candidate belonging to reserved categories
(SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD/EWS) are required to attach the Caste/ Category/Income
certificate issued by the competent authority in prescribed format of
Government of India. The Institute follows the Central list in the case of
SC/ST and OBC-NCLs. OBC-NCL certificate should not be older than one year. The
institute also encourages applications from qualified women candidates.

A candidate having expertise in the above mentioned fields/Areas
related to the department may be considered if she/he otherwise qualifies as
per the conditions in this advertisement. However, only those candidates will
be considered whose areas of research/education are required for the Institute
at the time of the selection process. The institute reserves the right to
prioritize the required research/academics expertise based on the needs of the
Institute.
This is as
per the recruitment rules of 4-tier flexible faculty structure for
IIITs.
Note: For the Department of
Management Studies, the publications in ABDC listed journals are equivalent to
SCI journals.
1. After Screening/short-listing
of applications and profiles of the candidates, by the duly Constituted
Screening Committee for the purpose, based on the Institute decided criteria,
the shortlisted candidates shall be invited for an ‘in-person’ presentation
followed by interview, before the Statutory Selection Committee. Based on the
recommendations of the Statutory Selection Committee and approval of the Board
of Governors of the Institute, appointment letters shall be issued.
2. The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number
of candidates for interviews before the Statutory Selection Committee, to a
reasonable limit, on the basis of qualifications, eligibility and experience
higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement and other academic
achievement. The Institute may adopt some other criterion and/or procedural
step to restrict the number of candidates to be invited for interviews before
the Statutory Selection Committee, for which the candidates will be intimated
in advance.
3. The decision of the respective committee(s) shall be
final, in this regard.
4. To and fro fare upto Railway AC 3 tier by the shortest
route (only for travel within India) will be paid by the Institute on
submission of tickets. Tatkal charges and local travel charges shall not be
reimbursed. Accommodation will be provided in Institute’s vistors' hostel at
Institute subsidized rate.
Other
Instructions 1.
The
Candidates who had applied earlier need to apply afresh. Old application will
not be considered. 2.
Only
Indian Nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) and overseas citizens of India
(OCI) are eligible to apply. The persons holding the foreign passport are
required to provide the details in the application form. Offer of appointment
for the individuals with foreign passports will be issued only after the
Political and Security clearance from Ministries of External Affairs and Home
Affairs is obtained. 3.
IIIT-Allahabad
adheres to the ‘No In-breeding’ policy. Therefore, a candidate who has obtained
or is expected to obtain his/her most recent degree (Ph.D) from IIIT-Allahabad
will normally not be considered for recruitment, except where there is a 3
years gap between leaving the Institute and last date of application. 4.
Higher
initial basic pay may be recommended to the deserving candidate(s) with
relevant experience by the selection committee. 5.
Any
Addendum/ Corrigendum/ Clarification will be published only on the Institute
website (www.iiita.ac.in).
Any update on shortlisted candidates, recruitment schedule etc. will be
notified on the Institute website only. Hence, the candidates are requested to
keep a copy of their application with them for their reference and advised to
periodically visit the Institute website for information/updates. The date
and time of Presentation/Interview will be informed only through the Institute

lower post also, if Committee recommends so. 19. Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate for being called
for any part of selection process. The Institute reserves the right to relax
any of the qualifications/experience in exceptional cases. 20. Applicants who are employed in Government or Semi-Government
Organizations should apply through proper channel or produce a "No
Objection Certificate" from their employer at the time of
presentation/interview. 21. No information will be sent to those candidates who are not
screened-in or not shortlisted for Interview. 22. Candidates may apply in more than one department by repeating the
online application process. 23. The candidates belonging to reserved category are required to
attach the Category certificate in the prescribed format of the Government of
India, issued by the competent authority, not below the rank of a Tahsildar or
from a first-class Magistrate of the place of domicile of the candidate clearly
authenticating the category to which they belong to. 24. The reservations for differently abled persons (PwD) candidates are
as per the Govt. of India. However, they shall be required to produce a medical
certificate in the prescribed form issued by the competent medical authorities
for the purpose of employment. Persons suffering from not less than 40% of the
disability in a, b, d, and e category as per the Department of Personnel and
Training Office Memorandum No. 36035/02/2017- Estt(Res) dated 15th January 2018
shall only be eligible for the benefit of reservation and other relaxations, if
any, as permissible under the rules. 25. An EWS candidate shall be eligible for the benefit of reservation
and other relaxations, if any, as permissible under the rules as per the
Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Office Memorandum F.No.
20013/03/2018-BC-II dated 17th January 2019 for reservation of
Economically Weaker Sections. 26. Candidates must ensure before applying that they are eligible
according to the criteria stipulated in the advertisement. If the candidate is
found ineligible at any stage of recruitment process, he/she will be
disqualified and their candidature will be cancelled. 27. Hiding of information or submitting false information will lead to
cancellation of candidature at any stage of recruitment. The Institute reserves

Any legal proceedings in
respect of any matter of claim or dispute arising out of this advertisement and
/ or an application in response thereto can be instituted only in Prayagraj and
courts/tribunals/forums at Prayagraj only shall have sole and exclusive
jurisdiction to try and such cause /dispute.

2.A Cumulative Professional Development Allowance of Rs. 3
Lakhs for every block period of 3 years is available to every member of the
faculty to meet the expenses for participating in both national and
international conferences, paying the membership fees of various professional
bodies, books and periodicals and contingent expenses, as well as for other

Rs.750/-per month.

Institute rules which at present correspond to those admissible to the Central
Government employees stationed at Prayagraj.
